As a child, my dollhouse was my favorite toy. I would spend hours making paper accessories for its inhabitants and weaving tales about their adventures. As I grew older I advanced into making dioramas for assignments in High School.
An MFA in Theater Design helped launch my career. I started working on the Main Street Animated Window, at Disneyland Park, and went on to have a very successful career with, Walt Disney Imagineering, Hallmark Cards, and Universal Studio Japan. My final stint was as a Librarian at the Cerritos Library, in California. There I developed collateral materials, and paper novelties for the city’s Summer Reading Programs. Some these pieces can be downloaded on my Itzatoi.com website.
During the Covid lockdown, my husband, Ted and I spent our time creating paper toys to help bring comfort to children and adults, who were experiencing fear and anxiety. We created 50+ items, which can still be download at Covidbeaters.com. In the New Year we will be coverting this site into Cancer Fighters for Kidz.
We started our Maui Papertoy Project on August 09, 2023. For many years, Ted volunteered for FEMA and was witness to the aftermath of many natural disasters. As we watched the news, we knew that we wanted to help. Being a bit older, and slower, it took longer than we had hoped.
Ted and I are mistakenly being beamed up into the Web. We hope that your and our downloads go smoothly, and that you have a great time crafting our papertoys. – With love, the Singers
